Hello! I was trying to relisten to some past episodes but noticed they didn't work on any of the podcast catchers I use. Is there a way to relisten to previous episodes of the show that were released? Thank you so much for your time and I hope you have a good day!

Oh no! It should still work, we’re still paying for it… let me (V) investigate what’s going on. In the meantime, if you are looking for a fannish podcast, I host This Week In Fandom History with the lovely @idontgettechnology of @ishipitpod and you would likely enjoy that!

Happy New Year! It's the first week of January, and V and Emily are exploring the effects of LiveJournal's sale to SixApart Media on January 4, 2005. Fandom is an eternal wanderer, forever losing its homes on the internet. Was this sale the harbinger of things to come? How did updates to LJ's terms of use affect fandom and fanfiction? Will fandom ever find a forever-home online?

This Week In Fandom History is a new fandom-centric podcast that tells you... what happened this week in fandom history!

Co-hosted by V @aimmyarrowshigh (I Met You On LJ) and Emily @idontgettechnology (I Ship It) and edited by Laz @lazaefair, This Week In Fandom History celebrates fandom culture's highest highs and weirdest lows.

With which short-lived vampire cop drama was the very first X-Files fic crossed over? Who is Tara Gilesbie? How recently did the Starsky & Hutch Lending Library rent out its last zine? What were Strikethrough, Racefail, LGBTFansDeserveBetter, and Conchobar, anyway?

V and Emily trade off some deep-internet research each week to learn and laugh (and sometimes rage) their way through the annals (heh) of fandom history. Come join us!

Hoorah, it's here! The first episode of This Week in Fandom History is here!

Oh, Aaron.

He was the most troubled and messed-up person I've ever met in my life, but he was also one of the most charismatic. His Jukebox Tour, which is LOST to the Internet, was the most well-produced, danced, and arranged concert I've ever seen.

If he had different parents, things might not have ended this way, but I think that oversimplifies the demons that man had.

Everyone deserves a support system, and ALL child stars should have non-familial advocates in their corners to be that support system when their parents can't or, in the Carters' case, won't. I want to think Aaron was among the last generation of truly exploited child stars, but...

Anyway, I will never again, in my life, feel an adrenaline rush like realizing that I was seeing Aaron Carter's sandwich roll past on the craft services cart. That was the best night of my life.

If you're looking for song recommendations to mourn: "It's Just You," "To All the Girls," and "Hey You" are my favorites.

And rapping the entirety of "Aaron's Party" is my party trick forever.

Once upon a time, Marvel and the MCU created characters (both good and bad) who were all pretty much, under the surface, redeemable figures.

They said, "Bad guys are just misunderstood good guys and if we can't make you love a character we can at least make you sympathize with them by showing you how they were tormented by the evil Nazi regime that's at the heart of all the bad stuff in this universe."

And we were like, "Yeah, fine. Cool. I'm on board."

And then somewhere along the line, the PTB decided that the message they really wanted to put across was that everything bad that happens to you is your fault and your trauma is something that you need to apologize for. And V (@aimmyarrowshigh) and Emily were like, "Huh-uh. Not on our watch."

Basically, we're not super stoked about Thunderbolts, alright?

Do you want to hear me talk about my extremely anxious Jewish feelings about Cap4 and Thunderbolts this fine yom kippur? Sure you do!

Thank you once again for having me on the show, Emily!! It was super fun even if we were also Not Stoked for Phase 5!

Corrections Corner: V was right, Emily was wrong, and Damien Echols is not in prison any longer for a crime he didn't commit. But he was. For a long time. And it was because of Satanic Panic bullshit.

V (@aimmyarrowshigh) is back to share in the joy, the bliss, the unmitigated rapture that comes from finding a new ship in unexpected places. Yes, it is true that Chrissy and Eddie only had a brief moment together in canon, but fanfic has done what fanfic does and ensured that their love will blossom and live forever on the internet.

Also, a less-than-friendly reminder about parasocial relationships, another million reasons why bullying is never, EVER okay (ESPECIALLY when it's over fictional characters, people,) and some sad news when Emily reminds 99.99999% of the population that, try as they might, they will not be marrying Joseph Quinn.

Whether you are a Poe fangirl (who isn't), a lover of his mind-bending sci-fi roles, or just one of the 10 people who didn't think Sucker Punch was straight-up painful to watch, this is episode is for you.

Join @aimmyarrowshigh and Emily while they discuss the sweetest of the sweet, the handsomest of the handsome, and the absolute ray of sunshine that is Oscar Isaac Hernandez Estrada.
